DALL-E Image Generation

ChatGPT image generation now uses **ChatGPT Images 2.5** (rolled out September 8, 2026 across desktop, mobile, and web), which replaced the earlier GPT Image 1.5 default. Available on **all plans including free** with tiered limits. The DALL-E 3 API is **deprecated May 12, 2026**—developers should migrate to `gpt-image-2`, `gpt-image-1`, or `gpt-image-1-mini`. Note: `gpt-image-1` and `gpt-image-1.5` are themselves now slated for API retirement (Oct 23, 2026 and Dec 1, 2026 respectively), in favor of `gpt-image-2.5-sunburst`/`gpt-image-2.5-flare`.
